Joyful Wedding at Son Sampol, Mallorca
Mallorca in September gives you that warm, honey-toned light and slow Mediterranean rhythm that makes everything feel timeless. For this joyful destination wedding at Finca Son Sampol in Llucmajor, our couple flew in from Manchester with their three children to celebrate with 70 guests—a relaxed, heartfelt day curated by top local vendors and told through a documentary-editorial lens. Planner Nolak Events kept the flow effortless; Tot a Punt crafted a vibrant Balearic feast; blooms by Doña Flor brought soft, textural romance; the cake by Sweet Lucy was a work of art; Charly Taylor set the dance floor alight; and Omar (Skylion Films) captured the motion while I focused on the unposed, honest moments that define my work as a Mallorca wedding photographer.
Venue note: Son Sampol is a lovingly restored 14th-century “possessió” two kilometres from Llucmajor (≈20 minutes from Palma), nestled under the Randa Massif—a historic, family-run estate made for outdoor celebrations. Recent renovations (2017–2022) added thoughtful event infrastructure including two Bedouin tents (250 m² and 150 m²) and an air-conditioned party room, and they host one event per day so the finca feels entirely yours.
Light note: In late September, golden hour typically falls around 19:10–19:45, with sunset just before 19:45—perfect for portraits among stone courtyards and olive groves.
A relaxed morning, children at the heart
They got ready surrounded by the finca’s warm textures—marès stone, wooden beams, Mediterranean greens. The children floated in and out of frames; their presence set the tone: real, playful, unfussy. I kept direction minimal—just enough to preserve light and composition—so gestures and glances stayed true to them.

Ceremony under Mallorcan sky
Nolak’s ceremony styling felt effortless—clean lines with textural florals by Doña Flor. Vows carried over cicada hums and a soft breeze from the fields. No over-posing, just space for them to be present with their children and friends.

Dinner al fresco by Tot a Punt
Long tables, linen runners, local produce, laughter echoing around the courtyard. Tot a Punt’s service flowed seamlessly—plates landing as toasts lifted. The children dozed and woke in waves; the evening belonged to everyone.

First dance, cake, and the party
Sweet Lucy’s cake looked sculptural and tasted like a memory. Charly Taylor’s set eased from classics into high-energy; the courtyard became a dance floor under the stars. Omar from Skylion Films wove between guests, capturing motion while I stayed close to the unscripted in-betweens.
